Title: A cooking buddy spotted?

-Supermarket-

Aoyama: (I was able to leave work early today in awhile. And I have plenty of time so maybe I should make something elaborate.)

Let’s see…… The carrots are……

Miyase: Oh, if it isn’t Aoyama-san. Good evening.

Aoyama: !? Miyase…… Are you out shopping for groceries this late at night?

Miyase: I was missing some items so that’s why. I suppose you’re also out grocery shopping then?

Aoyama: Y-Yeah…… I was asked to.

Miyase: Is that so? You’re working hard.

Aoyama: I guess……

Miyase: Perhaps it’s because this year’s vegetables have been continuously expensive, but the sizes up for sale are small……

Even if I hope to buy the usual amount like always, I run out and then it’s quite the hassle.

Aoyama: Yeah…… When you get used to buying it on instinct, that sometimes happens.

Miyase: You too, Aoyama-san? So you cook then?

Aoyama: N-No…… My friend who asked me to go shopping for them has said the same thing is all.

Miyase: I see. They must be having it rough as well.

Aoyama: Maybe. Well, if you’re short on ingredients then you should just come up with something fitting for the occasion.

Miyase: Yes, I completely understand! It’s also fun to create a new dish using ingredients that’s not dependent on the season.

And then you start coming up with dishes that have no prior recipe while testing out a bunch of things.

Aoyama: It goes hand in hand with the taste of a homemade meal.

Miyase: Yes! It truly is rewarding when everyone is satisfied with the new dish.

Aoyama: Yeah. You can get a sense of fulfillment from the food that you make for others.

Miyase: Exactly! I’m happy that there’s someone else who shares my thoughts.

Aoyama: It’s what my friend said………… not me.

Miyase: Haha. What a wonderful friend.

…… Oh, the potatoes are cheap today.

Aoyama: Potatoes, huh. In that case……

-Outside the Shops-

Miyase: I apologize for having you accompany me with my shopping in the end.

Aoyama: Not at all…… I was already in the middle of doing it for my friend.

Miyase: I’m glad to have talked a lot about cooking with you today.

If you’d like, please do talk to me about it again. Well then, please excuse me.

Aoyama: ……

(I was having fun so I started rambling before I knew it……)

In spite of feeling that way……

The ace ended up thoroughly thinking that he did have fun talking about the particulars of cooking and the how-to on selecting ingredients.
