Here are the translations for the two Q&As from each of the 26 heroes in Sutamai. They can be found on the individual character’s bio page in the book.
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Spending every single moment together with my significant other. She’s adorable even when she’s sleeping or talking… Everything about her heals me.
Q2. What’s the one thing you’d like her to fix about herself?
Her sleep-talking. Especially in the mornings, she’s so cute when she’s mumbling in her sleep that I can’t help but feel like she’s testing my resolve… Dammit, why the hell is she so adorable?
Yui Kotaro
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
When I got my hands on your cells… Kidding. Honestly, it was when I saw your smile. More than achieving any fantastic results from my research, I believe that was what made me glad to be doing this job.
Q2. What’s more fun than your research?
Loving her, I suppose. That stirs me up greater than my desire to toil away in the lab. My need in wanting to touch her and to be close to her only grows stronger by the day.
Seki Daisuke
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
I guess it’d be the instant when I open up a can of beer with you. I feel as if the significance brought about by that time is slowly changing little by little.
Q2. What’s the first thing you check when you wake up in the morning?
The time, maybe… But it seems like I can’t help but first assure myself that she’s really there after waking up on the days when she’s stayed over. I’ve heard her say that I’m actually half-asleep a lot of the times.
Natsume Haru
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
That’s not exactly something you would openly share with others. But I guess when it’s payday for all that labour… and seeing her splurge a little and being giddy from that is entertaining.
Q2. What sort of kiss do you like?
Maybe the one where it feels like they’re about to give in and I move in for that final push. It’s not like I want to be forceful with it or anything. I just happen to have times where the urge to hit that weak spot is there.
Imaoji Shun
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
When everyone’s safety is confirmed and the case is solved, the first thing I do is let out a sigh of relief. You could say that… that moment has its worth.
Q2. How do you relax when you’re exhausted?
(… Doesn’t look like I can escape answering this.) Tch… No use dragging it out, so I’ll say it… Getting her to pay attention to me. Getting to touch her.
Watabe Satoru
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Seeing my lovely partner’s face. Oh, but rather than saying it’s a way to unwind, perhaps she’s my source of energy. Like a continuously gushing fountain… she forever gives me strength.
Q2. What do you have a hard time with on your business trip overseas?
I guess how I end up getting all sad when I think about my lovely princess back in Japan… That, and worrying over whether or not she’s feeling lonely. But I’m a capable guy so I’ll do anything I can for my beloved.

Asagiri Tsukasa
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
It’d have to be when I’ve wrapped up a case. When I’ve accomplished what I need to… I feel relieved. However, there are still things that I must do. I can only but pull myself together and tackle a new case.
Q2. Tell us of an occasion where Kleiner was super duper, heart-wrenchingly cute!
When I ended up coming home late, there was a time where you and Kleiner were waiting up for me, and… you were both sleeping in the exact same position. The way the two of you were curled up cuddling each other was truly an endearing sight and too much for me to handle.
Sugano Natsuki
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Letting loose with a bang! You gotta get out of your work mode when the job’s over, and enjoy to your heart’s content. How about it? You gonna join me from now on as well?
Q2. What’s something that a girl does that grabs at your heart?
Riiight, up until now I did have one that I thought that, hey, this might be it. But lately, everything she does seems to grab at my heart. Even now as I’m saying this, just having her come to mind with how much she means to me is making my chest all tight.
Arakida Sosei
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Reading… especially Tsuduki-sensei’s books. Even those times when my head was filled with a bunch of other stuff, reading would help me to relax.
Q2. What sort of family do you want to raise and with what type of person?
I can’t really smile to save my life, so someone whose smile I think… is… c-cute… and I think being able to make a family that can naturally say things like “good morning” or “good night” or “that was delicious” would be nice.
Hattori You
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Having a smoke, sleeping… That’s about it. Oh, right, I guess there’s also Matori-chan. I suppose even I sometimes have days that I enjoy wasting away.
Q2. At what times do you get the urge to want to be affectionate?
When they wag their tail or their ears are drooping. My pup is oh so easy to read. But just because I want to dote on them, that doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll do it right away.

Hiyama Takaomi
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
When there is profit to be had, and it’s not simply to do with just money. When I’ve managed to rightly protect those whom I ought to. It’s my duty to carry through with that.
Q2. What’s a flower that you’re wanting to show her lately?
I’m raising balloon vines in a corner of my garden. It’s a lovely plant with its tiny white flowers and balloon-like fruits. There’s also a love heart marking on the seeds that I want to show the missus. I look forward to seeing what sort of face she’ll make were I to tell her that those are my feelings.
Otani Hatori
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
To loosen up, I chat with whatever girl that catches my fancy at whatever cafe I feel like… was how it used to be. But I’ve found something more fun than that. That’s why I’d love to see you tomorrow as well.
Q2. What’s your favourite style of dress for a woman?
If it looks good on the girl, then I don’t think there’s any need for me to say anything. But, well, if she’s going to be wearing all types of clothes then I may have an outfit that I want her to try on. “Will you show it only to me?”
Kagura Aki
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
If I didn’t feel that it was worthwhile then I wouldn’t be doing the job. But as for when I’m conscious of the feeling, it’d be every now and then. Isn’t it the same for you too?
Q2. Why are you such a ‘tsundere’?
Excuse me? I’d appreciate it if you didn’t put it in a weird sounding way. She’s just always spouting strange things, so I’m simply responding back in the most obvious fashion. She shoots her remarks without any reserve so there’s no reason for me to hold back with my attitude.
Maki Keita
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
Maybe it really does make me happy when I see people picking out our products. I think, probably at times like those… my expression goes all gooey.
Q2. What’s something cute about her that only you know of?
How it’s easy to guess what sort of dream she’s having. Even when she’s right in the middle of sleeping, she often smiles and all. She seriously is honest with how she feels… I love seeing that about her though.

Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Eating sweets is effective not only for replenishing your sugar levels during work, but also for relaxing. Nowadays, I feel as if the effect is drastically higher when I’m with you.
Q2. What would you do if your editor came barging over into your house?
I’d like to say that’s where I would report them to the police, but maybe that’s where I should confine myself to my study instead. There’s no way I’d make any progress with my writing knowing that I’m being glared at from behind. But… it’s a different story if she were to give me even some words of encouragement.
Tsuduki Kyosuke
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
Perhaps it’s when I had a taste of that feeling of support from everyone who’s my fan. I’m able to be an actor because I have you all with me. I can keep doing my best because I want to give back my thanks to everyone with my acting.
Q2. What’s something that you want her to wear?
Actually, I had an outfit that I really wanted her to put on. Since there was a dress that I spotted downtown that looked like it would be perfect on her… But I made sure to keep myself in check. I thought it’d be better for her to pick out one that she’d want to wear if it was going to be a pure white, once-in-a-lifetime, dress.

Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
Worthwhile… huh. When money comes in as compensation for my labour. Because that itself is an evaluation of my own abilities.
Q2. What does someone have to do to become your patient, Shindo-san?
I have no intention of letting those important to me become a patient of mine… Don’t get the wrong idea. I’m just saying it would be a problem for me to have them getting either sick or hurt. She has a tendency to jump straight into doing rash things, but I want her to properly look after herself and to go about life smiling.
Yamazaki Kaname
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Every second spent together with you… is what I’d like to say, but maybe it’s about half of that time. The other half is when you’re way too cute and I don’t know what to do with myself.
Q2. What’s something that you’d like to do for her adult-working self?
I want to be that place where she can feel most at ease and not be made to worry about others. Even when she’s feeling lonely or happy, the one to share in that with her should be me. For that sake, if it’s something that I can do right now, then I want her to let me do whatever it is… I’m her boyfriend, after all.
Kirishima Koya
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
It’s gotta be when Kujo-san praises me. Or when I tell Kujo-san, “I’m home”. That, and when the beer I’m chugging over dinner tastes awesome! Hehe, you also up to joining me for drinks?
Q2. You’ve found a girl you like! But what are you going to do if a rival appears?
It’s not about me. I wanna think about what’s best for her. I can’t just push what I wanna do onto her, y’know? Making things hard for the person you love is outta the question man! If she wants me by her side, then I’ll do my best in everything. If my rival is gonna make her happy, then I’ll watch over them?
Kujo Soma
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Perhaps sitting around the dinner table at the end of the day is a relaxing time in particular. If possible… I would love to invite you over everyday as well.
Q2. If you were to get her to pick out one thing that you would wear, what would it be?
How about a key case? I’d be happy with a tie or watch too, but… even just showing others your present to me is regrettable. If it’s a key case, then the chances of that are slim… In other words, it means that I’ll be the only one to know of your great sense of taste.
Miyase Go
Q1. What’s the number one thing that you want to do with her right now?
I want to hug her and kiss her. Once you end up getting to know her soft and gentle side, you can no longer be apart from her. I’m so hopelessly in love with her.
Q2. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
I have plenty of those moments. Such as when I get people saying that my cooking is delicious, or when the flowers have bloomed beautifully. If you were beside me during those times, then… it would be an even more blessed one.

Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Using bath products or doing all sorts of other things. But lately, I guess I’ve taken a fancy to cafe hopping~ If you want, care to join me?
Q2. Are you living by yourself or with your parents?
I live on my own. I can decorate the interior to my liking even more so than I can back at my parent’s house. I think that’s fun.
Hosho Isagi
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
Um… you can see the little birdies from the window in the lab. While I’m studying, I would happen to accidentally stop what I’m doing to watch them… I-I’ll send you a photo next time.
Q2. What’s your favourite colour?
T-To say the colour that I like… I don’t think… I have the right to make that decision… But, it’d be a problem if I don’t answer, wouldn’t it… The moment when she smiles—that warmth, that atmosphere—if that were to be broken down into some sort of colour, then I’d definitely… be in love with that one.
Hinata Shion
Q1. Tell us your favourite way to unwind!
It’s probably when I put on some nice relaxing music for my afternoon nap. I’m pretty sure I can sleep best when I listen to your voice though… Could I ask that of you now?
Q2. If you were to get her to wear it, what loungewear would you prefer?
One that feels comfortable, and then for that whole time, I’d get her to be my pillow with her lap. Maybe she’ll get tired if it’s for the whole time… In that case, I want to hug her when I’m sleeping, so yeah, I’d definitely want her to wear something fluffy. And then I’d wear it too, so we’d both be… spooning each other?
Saotome Ikuto
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
If we’re talking recently, then maybe that time when I organised the business cards that I exchanged with those influential gentlemen. I bet a nincompoop like you can’t even begin to imagine it, but from here on out, doors are opening on my road to success.
Q2. What do you hope from the person dear to you?
I don’t need any of that consideration, such as you holding back and keeping a distance from me, like you’re offering me some pretty-sounding words. You should just stay by my side. From the very beginning, I had no intention of letting go of you—someone who’s… precious to me that I finally managed to get ahold of, dammit.
Seo Narumi
Q1. When do you feel/have you felt as if your job is/was worthwhile?
I can think of several examples even to do with my own personal research, but… I feel a sense of pride when the people around me praise everyone from my lab.
Q2. What do the people in your lab group mean to you especially, Seo-san?
That place where those kind and delicate kids that I want to cherish are… is an irreplaceable one. If I were to have any attachment right now, I think there would definitely be one of them.
