• The reason Souma brings up Keito is because the line of ‘pleading for your enemy to show you mercy’ literally refers to the act of offering salt to the Gods as salt was a highly valuable commodity back in the old days, and this display was meant to induce pity and beckon fortune. Keito is from a Buddhist temple, so he would know of this 'practice'.  

 

 

Souma:

 

Good morning, everyone. Kanzaki Souma has arrived. 

 

 

Makoto:

 

Ah, morning, Kanzaki-kun. That cord is connected to the power plug there, so be careful not to trip over it.

 

But it's a laptop so just in case, it still has battery power.

 

 

Souma:

 

Hm. What is it that you are doing there, Yuuki-dono? Are you using a “computer”?

 

Yuuki-dono has extensive knowledge when it comes to machines. As for me, I have “completely” no idea of what it is that you are doing. 

 

 

Makoto:

 

Err, well, how should I explain it—so there’s a software on the computer that can make 3D models dance, right?

 

 

Souma:

 

Hmmm. I do not understand anything at all. To put it simply, what is it that you are saying?

 

 

Makoto:

 

Umm~ maybe it’s faster for you to see it yourself. Here, look—it works like this.

 

 

Souma:

 

Ooh…… A person is dancing inside the “computer”. Since they are wearing glasses, could it be you, Yuuki-dono?

 

 

Makoto:

 

Yep. For the time being, it has my personal data…… Um, it’s because I know my own height and weight and all. 

 

I tried making a 3D model of just myself first. 

 

Afterwards, I plan to make ones for Hidaka-kun and Akehoshi-kun as well. 

 

And of course, one for Isara-kun too. All the ones besides mine are still incomplete, so they’re still looking like draft outlines.

 

I even made the unit outfit for “Trickstar” and got the models to wear it. But unless I adjust the joints in their body, they end up moving in ways that are impossible for the human body, you know?

 

But really, it was a lot of trouble to work with! I accidentally got too wrapped up in it, and ended up staying overnight to work on it~ ♪

 

 

Souma:

 

Hmm…… But for what purpose are you doing this?

 

 

Makoto:

 

Hm. It’s because us “Trickstar” don’t really get along well with the Student Council.

 

So it’s kind of hard for us to use the music and choreography prepared by the Academy. 

 

 

Souma:

 

I see…… If you make a request to the Student Council, then you would be able to use the existing resources. But perhaps it is difficult for those from “Torikkusutaa” to make that move. 

 

It is like pleading for your enemy to show you mercy, after all.  

 

But I do believe that Hasumi-dono performs “perfectly” in that area, so there is nothing in particular to worry about. 

 

 

Makoto:

 

Well, I guess that’s true. But even we don’t really want to rely on the Student Council’s power, you know.

 

That’s why I want to prepare the music and choreography and such using my own efforts.

 

It’s nice to know that I can always sketch it out onto paper, and then try dancing it in real life.

 

But I’m thinking, like~ isn’t it convenient to be able to make the 3D models on the computer screen dance instead?   

 

You’re able to observe it objectively, and you can try out a bunch of things without wasting any energy. I’m not really useful in actual Lives……

 

So it’d be good if I could be of some help using my specialty with computers.  

 

 

Souma:

 

Hmm. That is indeed a commendable level of dedication—the purpose is also good. 

 

With this, even amateurs in song and dance such as Tenkousei-dono will be able to freely come up with ideas in that area…… 

 

 

Makoto:

 

Yeah, that’s right. Since it’s on a computer, you can do it in your own home or even when you have time to spare.   

 

“Trickstar” has gotten busy, so it’s pretty hard to get us all together for lessons. 

 

But if it’s on a computer, then we can all assemble at any given time. It makes it easy to think up each “Unit” member’s positioning and choreography~ ♪    

 

It cuts down wasted time and labour—don’t you think it’s a pretty neat idea?

 

 

Souma:

 

Yes. Yuuki-dono is making full use of his valuable skills. I am impressed, and if anything, I envy you for being able to utilise your specialty as an “Aidoru”.

 

For me, even if I call it a specialty, it is only in martial arts…… It is not something that I can truly make use of as an “Aidoru”. 

 

Or rather, I am often scolded by Hasumi-dono and have my katana confiscated. 

 

 

Makoto:

 

Ahaha. But I’m a dull person so I’m jealous of you, Kanzaki-kun.

 

Maybe it’s because Kanzaki-kun’s “Akatsuki” gathers the assertive fighter types or something, but there are times when you guys are up on stage with some pretty surprising moves.     

 

That sort of flashy—or should I say superhuman—action is, well…… Even if I were able to replicate it on the computer, it would be impossible for me to imitate in real life. 

 

 

Souma:

 

Fufu. You are being considerate of me, Yuuki-dono. I am embarrassed to say that I am grateful for it.

 

Even though we are “kurasumeito”, I cannot say that “Akatsuki” and “Torikkusutaa” have a favourable relationship…… 

 

We have also not talked much, but I hope to get along with you as a school friend from now on. 

 

 

Makoto:

 

Same here. I’m kind of shy, but because Kanzaki-kun speaks to me so earnestly, it makes me happy—or how should I put it, I can talk to you with ease~ 

 

I thought you were more of a scary person, you know. 

 

 

Souma:

 

Hmm, is that so? Perhaps it is because of my katana, but for some reason, I tend to make people excessively cautious of me…… 

 

Even though I would not mind if they were to come and talk to me more casually. 

 

I do not understand this “computer” business, but I would not be unwilling to lend you a hand with anything else. 

 

 

Makoto:

 

Ah, then how about giving me your opinion on this—I don’t know much about the human body, or rather…… 

 

I don’t really understand the limits of what is possible or not for human performance.

 

Kanzaki-kun has exceptionally outstanding physical abilities, so if I configure the “parameters for human limits” based on your movements, then it’d be getting quite close to reality…… maybe?  

 

Hmm, it might be a good idea to store Kanzaki-kun’s movements as data…… But for techniques like in the movies, I’d want to have specialised equipment……  

 

Hey, see, look here—is this sort of action possible?

 

 

Souma:

 

Hm. This is not a manga, so it is impossible. You would most likely fracture your bones. 

 

Is the “kamera” position fixed? Depending on the angle, it is possible to create an illusion when performing that movement. 

 

I know of those sorts of techniques—or rather—those tricks. 

 

 

Makoto:

 

Aaah, I didn’t think of that. I see~ I’ll note that down for reference.  

 

 

Souma:

 

Also, I should mention that I am able to grasp the build and muscle structure and such of all those I have faced against……

 

For example, I believe that I would be able to tell you the “deeta” of Akehoshi-dono and the others. 

 

Would that not increase the accuracy of producing the “suriidi moderu”?

 

 

Makoto:

 

Wow, that really helps me out a lot~ As a thank you, maybe I should create a 3D model of Kanzaki-kun as well? It’ll be a little tricky though, since your hair is long ♪

 

 

Souma:

 

Is long hair difficult to work with? Hmm…… I do not really understand, but it is a refreshing feeling to experience another’s culture.

 

I am unfamiliar with technology, so it would be handy to have you teach me various things.

 

 

Makoto:

 

Okay~ so we’ve got ourselves an agreement of give-and-take. It’d be great if we can get along as classmates from now on too ♪
