(Sutamai) Special Feature, 2D Star Volume 9

Summary: “The Government Hotties are the Matori and the Police.” For the second round of our special feature on a different industry (TL note: the first report was on the “Palette Parade” mobage), we’ll be having a close-up with some government employees! At first glance, it seems like a complete opposite occupation to that of Idols and Artists, but they exist—these hotties who are the talk of the industry! It’s the debut for these men who have a firm grip on the hearts of the female fanbase!

“Christmas is a battle for being either the most or second most waste of time in the year.” - Hattori You

Characters: Seki Daisuke, Watabe Satoru, Hattori You, and Arakida Sosei.

This time, we’ll be focusing on the men who work in a different industry from that of Idols. So without further ado, we have here with us today Seki-san of the Narcotics Control Department; the Diplomat, Watabe-san; and the detectives, Arakida-san and Hattori-san from the First Division of the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit!

We’d like to ask you handsome government employees about your situation surrounding Christmas. When speaking of being a government employee, you get the image that the end of the year is hectic, but what’s this holiday like for all of you?

Seki: During this time of the year, there was a rather difficult case moving along within our section…… But everyone gave it their all in working together to round up the criminals without incident, so I was relieved. I make sure to somewhat take it easy for the night to compensate for all the running around throughout the day.

Watabe: I’ve always had plans with a beautiful lady since way back~ So I’ve always worked ultra hard to finish up all my tasks ahead-of-schedule so that I could try and leave Christmas day completely free for her.

Hattori: Do diplomats have that much free time on them?

Watabe: Did you even bother to properly listen to what I said just now?

Hattori: Nope, not at all. I’ve no interest in it.

Watabe: Haha, of course not.

Arakida: (There are fireworks blowing up all over the place suddenly. Please just spare us all and cut it out……)

Seki: Er…… Oh, right. So what about your group at the Police Department?

Arakida: It’s always been investigations for us. Work has been busy so I don’t have anything of the sort to answer for this question……

Hattori: Is that so?

Watabe: I wonder about that~

We get the feeling that the ladies wouldn’t be able to leave someone as handsome as you alone, Arakida-san. Well?

Arakida: …… Hngh. Enough about me already. Please move onto You-san next.

Hattori & Watabe & Seki: No doubt about it. This response means that something happened……

Hattori: Let’s see, for me…… I take an afternoon nap and walk my pet.

Seki: A walk? Do you have a dog or something?

Hattori: Hmmm, well, something resembling that. I’ve left it to roam free at the moment though.

Seki & Watabe: To roam free……?

Arakida: (You-san doesn’t have a pet or anything like that…… What’s he talking about?......)

It looks like each and every one of you have been able to spend your respective Christmases in a meaningful way. Incidentally, when you hear of the term “Christmas”, what image comes to mind for all of you?

Seki: That’s a tough one to answer when asked out of the blue. Maybe something like a turkey?......

Watabe: That answer is way too cliched. Why don’t you read this book for a bit and try to think up an answer that would make the Daisuke-kun fans all over the country happy?

Seki: Sorry for all the trouble. But what about you as well, Watabe?

Watabe: Well, now~ Isn’t it great that wherever you go, everything is illuminated and beautiful? And more than anything, there are a lot of girls about looking happy because of it too. Isn’t this season truly the best?

Hattori: Christmas is a battle for being either the most or second most waste of time in the year.

Arakida: I also don’t…... particularly have any nice memories of it.

Hattori: That’s right. You “seemingly” have ill luck when it comes to women, Sosei. Was that from when you were a student? It was right before Christmas……

Arakida: …… Please forget that story already.

Watabe: Um? Excuse me, but why don’t we talk a little bit more on things with dreams in them for Christmas at least?

Well then, allow us to change up the questions a little. So, is there any present that you want to receive from Santa Claus?

Arakida: Huh, in that case…… If it comes out, I’d want the new book by the novelist, Tsuduki Makoto.

Hattori: If I’m going to be given something either way, then I’m in the mood to maybe even drink some delicious alcohol.

Seki: For me…… I guess I don’t need anything. That being the case, I think it’ll be good if Santa chooses the thing that he loves and accepts it for himself.

Hattori: So selfless. And what of you, Watanabe-kun?

Watabe: Hahaha. It’s “Watabe” and not “Watanabe”. We’ve actually had this exchange three times today.

Hattori: Well now, did we run into each other this afternoon by the roadside as well?

Watabe: You know, I’ve been thinking lately that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Police Department are way too close to each other~ It’s not out of the question for me to sooner request from Santa that I’d want to be in an environment physically far away from you, Hattori-san.

Hattori: Why don’t you?

Seki: …… Haha.

Arakida: (Every now and then, the atmosphere gets like this. I’m begging you here so please cut it out……)

Hattori-san and Watabe-san get along well with each other, don’t they? (LOL) Now, onto our last question. You’re spending Christmas with the love of your heart; what sort of night do you want to give her?

Arakida: …… The love of… my heart……?

Watabe: I’m on the “I want to surprise her” team~ Like taking her to a place where you can see the best view of the night sky, and eating out together at a delicious restaurant while playing escort. I want to spoil her with everything that I have, and more so than usual, to make up for all of the lost time that we haven’t been able to normally spend together.

Seki: I’m probably the opposite of Watabe then. I’m not good with deliberately going out of my way to catch her attention, so I would ask her what she’d want to do and I think it would be nice to just relax and spend time with only the two of us.

Arakida: (...... Just the two of us alone on Christmas night…… How are you supposed to pass by time like that?...... Being alone together at night means that, so in other words…… Wait, no, hold on……)

Watabe: What about you, Hattori-san?

Hattori: I’d put a collar on her and break her in.

Watabe: So you’re the type to bind them up~ Haha, that’s quite the extreme play~

Seki: Haha. Yes…… I’m sure that something like that could also be considered a special night.

Arakida: (Why are they so casually taking in and going along with what he said just now.....? What’s with these seniors?......)

Hattori: And? What sort of naughty fantasies have you been thinking about for a while now, Sosei?

Arakida: !?

Watabe: Yeah, yeah. I’m curious about that as well~

Arakida: No, I think time’s nearly up and all. So we should quickly get going……

Hattori: Say, Mr. Section Chief and Watabe-kun, there’s a diner right around the corner with delicious food and alcohol. Seeing as all three of us from different departments and ministries are finally gathered, how about deepening our ties a little bit more over some drinks after this?

Seki: You have a good point there. This sort of opportunity also rarely comes by after all.

Watabe: I’ll come along with you.

Hattori: And for you Sosei, we’ll have you borrow the power of alcohol and confess to various things now, won’t we?

Arakida: (So in the end, it’s come to this……)

Finally, we’d like to ask you all to leave a message for the readers!

Watabe: I’m really grateful to you for always being there beside me and supporting me. Merry Christmas!

Arakida: …… Thank you.

Seki: The only thing that I can do is to keep trying my hardest as always, but…… I’ll be happy if you continue to follow me from now on as well.

Hattori: Well, that’s pretty much my sentiments there. So here’s to working with you next year too~
