• 1This saying is used when someone/something is cute enough that practically anything they do can be forgiven or slipped under the rug. In short, they can do no wrong (because they’re cute)!

Sugano: Apparently, the other day at the Zoo—

The pandas were open to the general public for the first time ever.

 

Asagiri: Hmm, is that so?

 

Sugano: Huh? Could it be that you’re not interested?

Aren’t pandas adorable though? Plus, you don’t often get to see them.

 

Asagiri: Hmph. You’ve still got a long way to go if you’re going to be flocking towards unusual creatures.

Seeing as there are other wonderful animals there too, or so to speak.

 

Sugano: Hmmm~ But don’t pandas score pretty high on the scale of being a rare sight?

 

Asagiri: It’s not only the pandas. I don’t believe that I would ever go to the zoo to visit the unusual animals, so I don’t quite understand the feeling.

 

Sugano: Oh, then how about if there was an unusual dog or something?

 

Asagiri: …… 

Then of course I would go. 

 

Sugano: I gotta hand it to you, Tsukasa-san~ Not an ounce of doubt in that answer~

 

Asagiri: That’s a given. 

Dogs are wonderful creatures. They’re clever, and have even made a name for themselves as “detection dogs”. 

And most importantly, they’re adorable……! 

 

Sugano: (Oh crap, I think I pressed his button.)

You’re right about them being cute.

 

Asagiri: It is often said that “cuteness is justice”.

Dogs are formerly seen as beings of justice, and they possess both intelligence and loveliness.  

 

Sugano: Incidentally, is the number one dog who I think it is?

 

Asagiri: There’s no question about it. It’s Kleiner. 

 

Upon hearing that, the youngest member of the First Division tried his absolute hardest to stop himself from laughing!
