Kagura: An AI robot?
Maki: Yep. I want you to also try using it as a subject of monitoring.
It’ll be stilted at first, but the robot will pick up words as you talk to it and it’ll start being able to hold up a conversation with you.
Kagura: Hold on.
Doesn’t that mean that I have to talk to it then?
Even if it’s you asking me, Kei-chan…… I’d feel awkward, or like……
Robot: “Even if it’s you asking me, Kei-chan…… I’d feel awkward, or like……”
Maki: (Oh, it was already switched on.)
Kagura: Hey, could you not like imitate me?
Robot: “Hey, could you not like imitate me?”
Kagura: Can’t you understand that I’m telling you to stop!?
Robot: “Can’t you understand that I’m telling you to stop!?”
Kagura: Like I said!!
Robot: “Like I said!!”
Kagura: What’s with this thing! It’s not holding up a conversation at all!
Robot: “If you want someone to talk to then I’ll accompany you.”
Kagura: Hey, don’t say it as if it sounds like I’m wanting that.
I never uttered a word of—
Robot: “You don’t want to talk to me?”
“...... I’m a little bit sad.”
Kagura: ……!
W-Well, if you promise to not imitate me, then……
I won’t mind humoring you for just a little while.
Maki: ……
(For all his complaining, he surprisingly looks like he’s having fun.)
(Aki and the robot…… They might unexpectedly go well together.)
And so, the toy-maker quietly left……
As he unknowingly looked forward to how the talking robot and the designer would fair several days later.
