Imaoji: (A “coffees around the world” campaign?)

(...... It might be nice to try out an American coffee for the first time in a while.)

(If I recall, wasn’t there a size close to almost a liter……?)

Staff: Welcome! Can I take your order?

Imaoji: Yes, let’s see now……

(They have sizes available, but…… it doesn’t specify the volume.)

Staff: Have you decided on what you want?

Imaoji: Yes, I’ll take one California coffee.

Venti size.

Staff: Sure!

Staff: Sorry to have kept you waiting!

Imaoji: Thank you.

(Like I thought, it’s a lot smaller when compared to America’s sizing……)

(Well, I guess it’s also a jump to compete with them.)

…… Hm? It’s delicious.

(Even though I didn’t think that it had tasted good when I had it as a kid.)

(So that’s just how much I’ve matured in other words, huh.)

Despite being a little bit let down by the difference between Japan and America……

The returnee felt that it really hit home how he had become able to start thinking of coffee as being delicious.

(Is this a coffee made out of beer? I wonder if it’s something like a cocktail.)

…… I’ll take a beer coffee please.

Staff: Sure. Please wait one moment!

Seki: Thank you.

(So this is beer coffee. It looks just like your regular beer on first glance……)

……!

(This is quite tasty. The faint smell of the coffee makes you feel relaxed……)

(One more cup…… is what I’d want at the moment, but……)

(Rather than drinking here, now I feel like going home and having a drink over dinner.)

(If I’m lucky, I might even be able to see her on the veranda. Haha, as if.)

(I’ll pretend that there wasn’t a part of me holding out hope there.)

The section chief ended up craving his usual evening drink even more so because of the occasional change in pace.
