Interviews with other industries #2
There’s still a lot to do even though it’s the summer holidays!? ~The Seo Research Lab’s Summer~
Summary: The hotties working at the university lab who appeared in last issue’s spread of “Men Who Work Are Sexy!” are back! During this time of the year when students are on summer break and the campus is quiet, what they’re wanting to do…… is to work!?
Characters: Seo Lab
Continuing on from last issue, this will be your second time appearing in this magazine, but we’re pleased to have you with us.
Saotome: Likewise, it’s a pleasure to be here. It’s an honor to have even been given another opportunity such as this.
Kawai: Pleased to be working with you~ We were only able to speak for a bit last time, so I’m looking forward to talking heaps with everyone this time.
Seo: That’s true. You seemed like you were really looking forward to today.
Hinata: Zzz…… Zzz……
Kawai: Shion-kun, c’mon, wake up now. The interview’s already begun.
Hinata: Hngh…… Thanks… for having us……
Seo: Oh? I had thought that we were just getting started, but are we wrapping it up already?
Kawai: That’s not it, Seo-san. C’mon, Shion-kun, we’re just getting into it.
Saotome: Our apologies. He appears to be lacking somewhat in terms of feeling nervous so we’re sorry for the trouble. But this mypaced aspect is also one of the great things about us—
Kawai: What’s this now? Your attitude really is somehow completely different to last time, Ikuto-san~
Saotome: Don’t say anything unnecessary, Kawai.
Hosho: …… U-Um, I-I, I’m sorry that I can’t blend in well with everyone else’s conversation. I’m probably going to take up a lot of time with my talking too…… I think I’ll just cause you inconvenience……
Seo: It’s okay. You’re managing to speak perfectly fine.
Hinata: Yeah. If you relax and then talk, it’s not a problem.
Kawai: Oh, Shion-kun, you’ve finally woken up.
Saotome: Tch…… Oh, no—please don’t mind me.
Now that Shion-kun is awake, we’d like to ask you all sorts of things with the theme of summer in mind. What does everyone associate this season with?
Hinata: Something like summer vacation. It’s the main highlight after all.
Kawai: Right~! Oh, but before that, it’s also the time for the mid-year exams. There are definitely things to look forward to but there’s so much to juggle as well, so it feels like a balanced out season or so?
Saotome: The students certainly have it rough, but for us teaching staff, it’s also the season when we’re swamped with exam prep and grading. Then there’s the added extra of putting together our own thesis and off-campus research…… That’s right. We have to prepare for the lectures too, don’t we, Seo-san?
Seo: …… Do we really now?
Saotome: Yes. Let’s confirm the schedule and deadlines together when we get back.
Seo: Sorry for the trouble. It’d help me out if we did. Yes, um, so we were talking about summer. Summer is the season when there starts to be less students at University so I guess it gives off a quiet impression.
Hinata: It’s rare to put down summer as being quiet.
Seo: Of course, there’s the image of it being lively as well. But when I walk around campus, there are times when I happen to feel lonely.
Kawai: In that case, I’ll drop by the lab every day so that you don’t feel lonely!
Seo: Thank you, Hikaru-kun. It makes me happy to know that.
Hinata: What comes to mind when you hear of the word “summer”, Isagi-kun?
Hosho: Umm…… I, um, I’m sorry I can’t really think of anything notable. B-But, if I had to say…… it’d be the stars, or maybe the starry sky.
A starry summer sky, how lovely.
Hosho: The stars are pretty for every season, but in summer at night time, the skies clear easier and there are plenty of constellations that you can make out. If done right, there’s a high chance of even being able to observe the milky way, so, that is…… I love it. The starry summer sky.
Kawai: Come to think of it, you sometimes gaze up into the sky, Isagi-kun.
Hinata: A lot of meteor showers can be seen in the summertime too, so I think that association is great.
Saotome: If I recall, didn’t you also love animals? I think that having a number of interests is a good thing.
Hosho: Hnghh!? O-Oh, I’m sorry, please forgive me! I let out such a w-weird sound and all……!
Kawai: Jeez~ It’s not often that Ikuto-san compliments Isagi-kun, so he probably scared him.
Seo: Now now, Hikaru-kun. It’s true that it’s important to expand your knowledge starting from your interests.
Hosho: I just d-didn’t think that Ikuto-san would…… say it to me, in that way. O-Oh, I feel like it turned out sounding rude again……
Saotome: …… I’ve always thought that way. This research lab is not confined by the construct known as the human mind. It’s full of members rich with extensive knowledge in fashion, animals, literature and the like. I, myself, am always getting a great kick out of it.
Seo: Yes, that’s right. I believe that’s exactly it.
Kawai: Yep, for sure. But I didn’t think I’d be hearing it coming out of Ikuto-san’s mouth, so it’s kinda a little unexpected.
Hosho: M-Me too, I’m always having you teach me, that is……
Hinata: Thanks for everything, everyone.
The Seo Research Lab certainly has a line up of wonderful members. Do you all have plans of any sort together for this summer?
Saotome: Nothing is set in stone at the moment.
Kawai: But we’d like to do something~ It’ll be easier to match everyone’s schedule when it’s the summer holidays.
Hinata: I want to do something fun.
Hosho: Y-Yeah. I feel…… the same way.
Kawai: What’s good, I wonder~ Oh, right, is there anything that you want to do, Seo-san?
Seo: If it’s something that everyone wants to do then I’m fine with anything……
Saotome: Saying “something fun” is too broad of a definition. Isn’t it quite difficult to come up with what to do from that?
Kawai: In short, we want to do something with everyone together, so anything is okay! Ikuto-san, you meanie~
Hinata: Like going to a festival.
Kawai: Oh, yeah! That sounds good!
Hosho: Now that you mention it…… I think I heard that a festival will be happening at the well-known shrine close to here. It’s nearby, and I, I hear there’s also a big fireworks show……
Hinata: It’s summer-like so it’s perfect.
Kawai: Maybe I’ll come dressed in a yukata then. You’d want to wear it once when it’s summer, right?
Seo: Then, it’s decided that we’ll be going to the festival, I guess?
Saotome: …… Well, if it’s close by, then I can come any time after I finish my work.
Kawai: You’re so not honest with yourself, Ikuto-san.
Please do enjoy yourselves. Thank you for your time.
