Title: Fluffy Pajamas and Travel Plans
Characters: Tsuduki Brothers
Summary: To celebrate the launch of the special serialisation that will come as an extra bonus with the magazine (from issue #5 onward), here’s an original illustration and accompanying short story. Check out the pair of amiable brothers in their moment of peace ♪
“If you don’t dry your hair in the next second brother, I’m going to do it by force, you hear?” - Tsuduki Kyosuke
“I did dry myself using a towel, but… I was busy with looking at the travel guide.” - Tsuduki Makoto
Late into the night, around the time when the moon had risen high into the sky…
Makoto: It looks like Kyosuke is late to arrive… Maybe his filming dragged on again.
(It might be a good idea to change around tomorrow’s travel time for the bullet train.)
(...... Actually, was it really okay for us to be going on a trip under these conditions?)
Upon looking at his phone to check the time, the screen switches to an incoming call.
Makoto: Kyosuke?
Kyosuke: Oh, brother? Sorry about getting back to you late. I just finished up so I’m heading there now.
Makoto: Got it. You don’t have to rush. Take care getting here.
Kyosuke: Yeah. By the way, are you done getting ready for tomorrow yet?
Makoto: All that’s left is to pack my luggage. What about you, Kyosuke?
Kyosuke: I’m good to go.
Oh, yeah. Put on something warm while you pack.
Makoto: You’re right. I’ll be mindful to.
(...... In that case, perhaps I should set aside Kyosuke’s one of that as well.)
Before long, the little brother who had come home and the older brother who had finished up his travel preparations began discussing their plan of action for the trip while warmly wearing a matching set of pajamas.
Kyosuke: Aah~ I feel refreshed.
Thanks for leaving out some fluffy pjs for me. I got to wrap up my bath without getting the chills because of it.
Makoto: I did have something excellent against the cold on hand, but…… I’m glad that you’ve taken a liking to it.
Kyosuke: Those pjs look really good on you too, brother.
Makoto: Is that so? Though I also get the feeling it’s a little too cute for me to wear.
Kyosuke: Not at all. Why not also drape it over your shoulders when you’re working?
Makoto: No, I… There was a time before when I wore this while writing.
I don’t usually drift off to sleep or anything, but… it was then that I woke up from Namihara’s demonic sounding phone call.
Kyosuke: (Namihara-san… Thank you for being a part of my brother’s editorial department……)
But I think I can relate to that. These pjs really keep in the heat.
Makoto: Yeah. Quite some time has passed since our baths, but they’re still warm.
Kyosuke: …… Wait, huh? Don’t tell me you haven’t dried off your hair yet?
Makoto: I did dry myself using a towel, but… I was busy with looking at the travel guide.
Kyosuke: That’s no excuse. If you catch a cold then it’ll all be for nothing.
Makoto: But it’s also important to plan out the trip, right?
Kyosuke: Jeez…… Well then, I guess we better get to it quickly.
Umm, so first up are these two sweets cafe. They’re often talked about how their menus are sampled and then compared.
Makoto: Apparently so. It seems as if the cafes sell something like a platter catered for that purpose.
Kyosuke: Yep, and there are limited seasonal goods as well so I’d love to get my hands on those too.
Makoto: Might as well. Let’s buy one of each and share it between us.
Kyosuke: Huh? You sure about going halvies? Will that be enough for you?
Makoto: Yeah. There are a ton of shops I want to get around to after all.
This one is only available locally. And this one has a purchase cap. The limited products alone make up a large amount.
Kyosuke: Woah… I’d expect nothing less from you, brother. Your research is on point.
Makoto: …… To be honest, she provided me with a myriad of information on shops she’d recommend or great little finds hidden away.
I’m thinking that I want to get her a souvenir to double as my thanks, but what do you suppose?
Kyosuke: Yeah, I think that’s a great idea. It’d be nice if she could share in our memories of the trip too.
On that note, have you got any places in mind for where to buy the souvenir?
Makoto: I’m considering on buying her the sweets that she said she was curious about.
It’s this bon bon here. It’s apparently so over-the-top popular that you can only buy it in-store.
Kyosuke: Oh, speaking of…… The chocolate store that’s nearby there is also famous.
Makoto: You mean this one, right? The cafe known for its delicious hot chocolate to go.
Kyosuke: Uh-huh, that one. Of course that’s a popular pick too, but…
The original chocolates sold as gifts would be nice for a souvenir as well.
She also looked interested in it when it was all the rage before.
Makoto: I see…… So you’ve researched that far into it.
Kyosuke: Only in my spare time during work. I’m used to looking up these sorts of things when I’m free.
Makoto: You don’t disappoint. Come to think of it, wasn’t making good use of those times your strong point?
Kyosuke: I guess so. That’s how I was able to perfectly schedule in this trip.
Makoto: Is that right? I’m glad as long as you’re not forcing yourself.
Kyosuke: Ahaha, I wouldn’t though?
Makoto: (I had wondered if it was alright to book in a trip, but… It looks like I was fretting over nothing.)
Kyosuke: (Seems like he was concerned, but if he’s at ease now, then that’s good.)
(Looks like she was also worried about me in the same way, so I should send her a message later.)
Makoto: Now then, we best be getting some shut-eye soon or we won’t be able to make it on time for the bullet train.
Kyosuke: No kidding. It’s already this late…… You forget the time when you think about fun things.
Hey, make sure to properly dry your hair before you go to sleep, okay?
Makoto: I’ll go do that now… By the way, about tomorrow’s breakfast…
Do you want to have toast topped up with plenty of butter and jam, or should we have the morning menu at a cafe inside the station?
No, wait, it’s also difficult to pass up starting the day with eating a packed lunch box on the bullet train.
Kyosuke: Oh, that might be a good idea! Haha, having sushi right in the morning sounds nice too…… Wait!
If you don’t dry your hair in the next second brother, I’m going to do it by force, you hear?
Although they thought about how they should be heading to bed soon, it would appear that their fun talk was yet to be over.
